Crafting, building, inspiring: A global maker scene has emerged for whom using soldering irons, saws, and cordless screwdrivers is as exciting and natural as using 3D printers, laser cutters, and 3D scanners.
The magazine Make: (formerly c't Hacks) builds and recreates. It publishes building instructions for cool projects that both beginners and advanced users can follow. The articles cover Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and similar topics, as well as projects far removed from PCs and electronics, such as ceramic upcycling, water rockets, biohacking, and textile printing.
Make: shows how the project works, provides basic articles on topics such as metalworking, CAD, and programming, as well as regular profiles of leading makers, and describes the working methods of well-known manufacturers and service providers. Tests provide information on which accessories are best suited for makers, such as 3D printers, oscilloscopes, or soldering irons.
The team of authors is part of the German maker community. Through cooperation with the US edition of Make:, the content is enriched with international projects. From simple quick hacks and inspiring build reports to detailed instructions for replicating entire devices, there is something for everyone.
The aim of Make: is to inspire people of all ages, enable them to take action themselves, understand technology, repurpose existing items, and give free rein to their own technological ideas. Creative minds will find something new in Make: every two months.
