Flower Power

An interactive outdoor art installation

New Zealand artist Bibi Jordan combines sustainability, visible mechanics, and interactive art. Exclusively for Maker Faire Hannover, she is creating with Flower Power a monumental steel flower made from recycled car hoods. Sensors detect visitors, causing the flower to bloom step by step, culminating in a spectacular firework finale.

BUZZBIRD

With BuzzBird, artist Eitan Rieger explores the connection between human movement and mechanical flight. Visitors take control of a bird several meters tall, whose wings mimic every arm movement in real time. The art installation makes sensors, microcontrollers, and mechanics visible and invites visitors to experience technology firsthand. Just a few months ago, it was still just a concept; now it’s a marvel of unique metal construction. On view for the first time in Hanover.

EXCITEMENT. ENERGY. FASCINATION.

VOLTRONICS

The LSD team(LaserShowDesign) combines high-voltage technology with digital laser art. Two 2.2-meter-tall Tesla coils generate electrical discharges up to three meters long. Synchronized laser animations and music transform a physical phenomenon into a fascinating live audiovisual performance.
