Thema: 3D-Print
For years, Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF) has been locked behind massive industrial footprints and massive price tags. At the Metal-Base booth, we are breaking that barrier. Meet The Metal 1.0: a compact, highly capable, and truly accessible LPBF metal 3D printer designed for hardware startups, research labs, and serious DIY engineers.
What to Discover at Our Booth:
You won’t just see static machines, you will experience true metal 3D printing live. We will be running The Metal 1.0 throughout the Faire. You can watch the entire mechanical loop up close: the thin powder spreading, the precision laser melting the cross-sections, and the real-time creation of solid metal within a safely contained, oxygen-purged nitrogen atmosphere.
Why You Should Visit Us:
Feel the Results: Seeing is believing, but feeling is knowing. We will have a variety of raw, un-processed parts on display straight off the build plate. Come feel the density and weight of components printed natively in 316L Stainless Steel, Tool steel, Inconel 718, and Bronze.
True Metal, No Sintering Furnaces: We will show you how we achieve production-grade tensile strengths without the need for the complex, secondary chemical debinding or furnace shrinking required by entry-level plastic-bound extrusion printers.
Talk Tech: We are engineers building for engineers. We would love to dive deep into the mechatronics, our integration with open-source software like OrcaSlicer, our custom nitrogen generation, and our journey from a successfully funded Kickstarter to regular production.
Whether you want to prototype custom metal tools, bring production in-house, or are simply curious about the leap from plastic to true metal printing, stop by and see the future of workshop-scale metal manufacturing!
Mitmachaktion: Interactive Tensile Test: Break Our Metal! Experience the strength of The Metal 1.0 firsthand. Visitors can use our custom load-cell vice to break real 3D-printed specimens in a tiered strength challenge. We offer Bronze for beginners, 316L Stainless Steel for a solid challenge, and heat-treated SS CX for the truly strong. Crank the vice, watch the live force data, and physically feel the power of true metal 3d printing!
