If you’re interested in hydraulically driven sculpture, programming, pyrotechnics, upcycling, welding, robotics, creative expression, building large-scale or interactive pieces, come on over.
Bibi and her team have made interactive large-scale artworks around the world, from Burning Man in Nevada, USA to Middle Earth New Zealand, to Sweden, Amsterdam, and Hannover. They’re knowledgeable about the creative and making process, working with teams, programming, engineering, cad drawing, art, collaborating, and having fun throughout the making process.
„We all have wild dreams, big ideas, and sometimes, don’t know where to start or we get overwhelmed in the process. If any of that sounds true for you, come and have a chat. We are happy to share knowledge, talk through our process, share experiences and challenges, explain how things work with this Flower, share inspiration, give tips for any projects or help with your ideas however we can.“
Why get to know us? We spent the last year making a giant interactive flame-throwing flower. And we’re nice people 🙂
The story: Almost two years ago Bibi, a New Zealand-Dutch artist based in Amsterdam, was first in touch with Maker Faire. They shared a dream to bolster and encourage creativity, and more minority and women makers. At that time, Bibi was struggling with the realities of our political and environmental situation. Flower Power came from a deep feeling of fear, vulnerability, and to speak out about the rapid militarization of Europe. What started as a need to seek support and find peace – well, it turned into a monster. With the support of Hannover Maker Faire and the collaboration of clever engineers and programmers, Flower Power was born.
